Norstat now offers a full line of ATEX Connectors designed specifically for use in potentially hazardous environments ( EX areas / Explosive areas ).
The ATEX line is available as DIN valve connectors ( field attachable ), M12 circular connectors ( field attachable ) and M8 circular connectors( field attachable ). All connectors are certified for equipment category 2G and 2D, gas zone 1 and dust zone 21. These connectors are ideal for applications where there is a potential for ignition of gases or materials such as oil and gas refineries and distribution facilities, chemical processing, grain and agriculture handling, process, and storage facilities as well as mining applications or even hospital operating environments.
Connectors are available with PA66 UL94-V0 or Brass & Nickel-plated housings. M8 circular connectors have a protection rating of IP55 / 57 (assembled ) while M12 and DIN valve connectors have a protection rating of IP65 / 67 (assembled ) and all connectors have an operating temperature of -20°C to +85°C. All connectors are offered in a variety of contact types ( male & female ) as well as the number of contacts ( 4, 5, 8 & 12 pole ). M12 circular connectors are also available as straight or 90° angled versions.
